About Derek

I was born on the East Coast, but I’ve lived in the Chicagoland area most of my life.  I recently moved to Vancouver, Canada.  I spent the first twenty-two years of my life as a soccer player, culminating in two trips to the NCAA National Championships with Stanford University.

I studied Human-Computer Interaction at Stanford, and founded Foodtree in early 2010 with Anthony Nicalo and Shelly Roche.  I also run Twenty Something Bloggers, the largest personal blogger community in the world, with Lisa Farlow.

This is my personal blog, and shouldn’t be construed to represent anything but my own opinions and thoughts.

The best place to track me down is on twitter [here].  If it’s serious, email me [here].

The other places around the web you might find me are generally listed in the sidebar of this blog and at my homepage [here].

Cheers!

  • Cool blog! I'm planning to get my MBA at Standford and I love soccer so you are ok by my book! ;)
  • Dshan -- sweet blog. I run a site called Gradspot.com that's a resource for twnetysomethings making the transition to life after college. Would love to feature some of your thoughts/music picks if you're interested.

    Keep doing your thing,
    Gritz
